Postcards From Kenya: A Rotation in Global Health

In Spring 2019, Michelle George, a soon-to-be graduate of the Pediatrics Residency program, joined the first cohort of the global health elective rotation in Eldoret, Kenya. She captured images of life and work during her four weeks at Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH) sites.

The global health elective rotation, managed by the Division of Global Health in the Department of Population Health, allows current residents and students to participate in clinical work under faculty supervision at AMPATH in Eldoret. AMPATH is a 30-plus-year-old partnership between Kenyan and international institutions committed to advancing service, education and research to improve population health outcomes in Kenya. Dell Med is now part of the AMPATH Consortium, a bilateral exchange partnership between the leading AMPATH institution in Kenya, Moi University, and a group of North American medical schools.
