The COVID-19 Pandemic: Global Health on the Front Lines

In this special elective course for spring 2020, students and faculty used virtual platforms, independent projects, discussions, and community-based service experiences to:

  • explain the clinical and epidemiologic features of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 disease.
  • Identify the key features of a pandemic response at both global and local levels
  • Analyze how global pandemics intersect with issues such as health equity, social justice, health system design, health care policy, communications, research, education and ethics.
